World Record and National Record Holders!

Venturi Buckeye Bullet 2:  The Buckeye Bullet 2 is a streamlined hydrogen fuel cell land speed vehicle designed to break the speed record for electric vehicles at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah.   


September 2009:  Venturi Buckeye Bullet 2 set a record of 299.91 miles per hour and then broke that record with 302.87 miles per hour a week later!

2007:  Buckeye Bullet 2 set a record at 132.129 miles per hour!

October 2004:  The Buckeye Bullet has shattered its' previous National Land Speed Record for an electric vehicle at 314.958 mph!  The Bullet also broke the World Record with an impressive 271.737 mph, the previous record was 245 mph!  Just when we thought we had done it all - the Bullet reached a peak speed of 321.8 mph - making it the fastest electric vehicle in history!  This all took place at the Bonneville Salt Flat's World Finals.  The peak speed has even been submitted to the Guinness Book of World Records.  It's been very exciting and gratifying for Shoemaker Industrial Solutions to be part of such a great project and a World Record!  For more information visit the following links:

August 2003:  The team went back to Bonneville in August 2003 but were disappointed with the results of Speed Week and an early close to the meet!  Follow this link for the complete story.  

October 2002:  The Buckeye Bullet made its' debut at the Bonneville Salt Flats in October 2002, where it reached a peak speed of 260 mph!  Follow this link for the complete story

The Buckeye Bullet is an impressive 31 feet long.  The main body of the vehicle is about 24 inches high and the driver's compartment is about 36" high.  The vehicle operates at 900 Volts and 500 + Horsepower!  The motor was designed and built by Shoemaker Industrial Solutions.
